What are the benefits of Hemp fabric and why do you use it in the Better Buddies' eco-friendly dog beds?
Hemp stretches less then any other natural fibers, gets softer with use and is porous by nature and breathes, thereby making it cool in warm weather and warmer in cool weather when your dog is laying on our beds!
Via the North American Industrial Hemp Council & the European Industrial Hemp Association:
- Hemp fibers are longer, stronger, more absorbent and more mildew-resistant than cotton.
- Fabrics made of at least one-half hemp block the sun's UV rays more effectively than other fabrics.
- Hemp grows well in a variety of climates and soil types. It is naturally resistant to most pests, precluding the need for pesticides. It grows tightly spaced, out-competing any weeds, so herbicides are not necessary. It also leaves a weed-free field for a following crop.
- Hemp can displace cotton which is usually grown with massive amounts of chemicals harmful to people and the environment. 50% of all the world's pesticides are sprayed on cotton.
- Hemp can displace wood fiber and save forests for watershed, wildlife habitat, recreation and oxygen production, carbon sequestration (reduces global warming), and other values.
- Hemp can yield 3-8 dry tons of fiber per acre. This is four times what an average forest can yield.
- Hemp is an extremely fast growing crop, producing more fiber yield per acre than any other source. Hemp can produce 250% more fiber than cotton using the same amount of land.

What size Better Buddies bed should I get for my pet?
Please refer to our bed sizing for the most detailed information. The bed should be roomy for a pet to get up and spin around in without falling off. However, each pet has unique taste. Does your pet like to drape over the edge of the bed? Buy smaller. Does your pet like room to spread out within the parameters? Buy bigger. It’s all up to you and YOUR PET! For a general rule of thumb, the filling for each bed supports the weight category as follows:
Donut Bed:- 1. Small - up to 40 lbs.
- 2. Medium - up to 60 lbs.
- 1. Medium/Large - up to 60 lbs.
- 2. Large/Extra Large - up to 150 lbs.

All orders from our site will ship via UPS Ground. You can expect that your order will take approximately 1-2 business days to process with 7-10 business days to arrive at your doorstep. If you order over the weekend or over a holiday, your product will ship the following 1-2 business days. What is your Return Policy?
We know you and your pet will both LOVE your Better Buddies product, but if you are unsatisfied with it, we require you to contact us within 10 business days after receiving your product. However, due to industry standards, we cannot accept any used items. The shipping and handling for your purchase and return will not be refunded.
